Grass at last

Finally, some grass. With all the recent rain, the original installation date was postponed but it eased up enough to allow the grass to go in this week. We have gone from having a really tiny patch of grass to look after to this!

What was once home to the chicken run is now a Charlotte run!

There was enough left over turf to do down the back which was never in our original plans but worked out well.

The chickens now have a new run.

We have left a space for her new cubby house which we have ordered for her birthday.

Charlotte thinks it is great. Just wait until she is old enough to mow!

Weetbix for dinner?

When Charlotte got home from day care today, she decided she wanted Weet Bix for dinner. She went to the cupboard, got out the box and handed it to me. Unfortunately for her, her request was denied but it goes to show how much she loves her Weet Bix - and she doesn't even know yet how good it is with sugar!

Let the fun begin

Over the past couple of weeks, we have turned our attention to getting some work done in the yard to make way for a playground for Charlotte .... and Frenzal.

I think Phil enjoyed sitting back watching someone else do all the hard work for a change.

Interestingly, there were no snakes to be seen.

We know have a clear line of sight from the house to the dam. Here we are enjoying some fishing at the dam on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The view from the back deck to the dam.

The area is now ready for some turf but all the rain recently has delayed those plans.
